Cutting on the Fold

Hello My Friends,
Today I wanted to share a quick technique on how to make some simple flower cards that are cut on the fold.
Here's how to do it.
Cut a piece of card stock big enough to fit your die cut, fold the card stock in half.  Isn't this GUAVA CARDSTOCK so pretty!
Place your die so that a portion of the blade is hanging over the edge of the fold. Place your top cutting pad and die cut. This is a perfect example of how awesome the MAGNETIC PLATFORM is... it holds your die in place perfectly!

You can see in this photo that the top two petals are cut off, this is where the fold of your card is.

We made these flower cards with Candy, Bubblegum and Lemonade card stock and embellishments from the February Card Kit. They also make adorable gift tags if you just punch a hole and add some twine.
Happy Stamping!

Finished flowers on the bottom have all perfectly shaped petals. The sample cut have two flat petals. How do you get the rounded fold cuts?

To get the two flat petals I would cut another flower and overlay it to cover the fold. Maybe that's what they did here.

Which flower die do you use? Thank you.

I also would like to know which flower die set you used...
Great idea!

Hi Ladies, Regarding the flat edges... yes you can cut another flower and overlay it if you would like to have a perfectly finished flower on the front. Also, the closer the fold is to the edge of the blade the more of the shape will be cut. Stephanie Barnard dies that would be perfect for this technique are Sizzix Flower Layers & Leaf #658692, Sizzix Flower Layers & Leaf Set #660146 or the Flower used in this post Sizzix Card w/ Flower Set #660140. Happy Stamping!

PS... Remember this doesn't have to be a flower shape, It could be a gift or butterfly shape or one of my favorites is to use one of the pretty frame lit sets like the Regal or Royal Sets.
